Simple Chicken Curry Recipe

Chicken Curry is a dish that is now famous all over the world. It is extensively cooked and eaten in India and Pakistan. Chicken curry is very spicy aromatic chicken preparation which also has curry. It is an all weather dish. And most importantly be it lunch or dinner or is eaten with chapatis or rice, or any bread Chicken Curry gels well with any occasion or food. 

Ingredients For Chicken Curry Recipe

  • Chicken : 1 kg 
  • Onions : 4-5 (finely chopped)
  • Garlic Paste : 2 teaspoon
  • Ginger Paste : 2 teaspoon
  • Green Chili Paste : 2 teaspoon 
  • Cumin Powder : 1 tablespoon
  • Pepper Powder : 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander Powder : 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric Powder : 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red Chili Powder : 1 teaspoon
  • Garam Masala : 1 teaspoon
  • Chicken Masala : 1 tablespoon
  • Salt : As per taste 
  • Oil : As required 
Whole Spices
  • Bay Leaves : 2
  • Cumin Seeds :1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper : 8-10 pieces 
  • Dried Red Chili : 3-5
  • Garlic Cloves : 5-7 pieces 
  • Black Cardamom : 2
  • Green Cardamom : 3
  • Cinnamon : 2 sticks
Preparation Time : 10 minutes
Cooking Time : 40 minutes
Total Time : 50 minutes

How To Make Chicken Curry 

  1. First of all we will take chicken in a bowl, wash it properly and rinse it well to ensure no water is left and then keep the bowl aside
  2. Now take a pressure cooker and heat it on a medium flame. We will put oil in it when oil gets heated add bay leaves, cumin seeds, black pepper, black cardamom, green cardamom, whole garlic, cinnamon and dried red chilies and fry it for around 30 seconds in hot oil
  3. Now put finely chopped onions in it and fry it till it turns golden brown, when it is done, add ginger garlic paste in it and fry it for some time. Then add chicken in it, put turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder, mix well, then fry it for 2-3 minutes
  4. Fry it well in the pressure cooker, when the chicken seems to be fried, spices start emitting oil add garam masala powder, chicken masala and a cup of water. 
  5. Put the stove on medium flame, place the cooker's lid and cook it it cooker gives one whistle. Switch off the stove and wait for pressure to be release, open the lid when pressure is released, your chicken curry is now ready to be served
