Jackfruit Curry Recipe
Jackfruit curry is a very popular Indian cuisine. Besides being easy to cook and tasty, it takes little time in preparation. Jackfruit curry gels well with breakfast, lunch or dinner. In India it is one of the most popular items on summer wedding feasts. So without wasting any time, lets start preparing Jackfruit curry.
Ingredients For Jackfruit Curry Recipe
For Marination:-
- Jackfruit : 500 grams
- Curd : 1/2 Cup
- Ginger Paste : 1 teaspoon
- Garlic Paste : 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric : 1/4 teaspoon
- Red Chili Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Fenugreek Leaves : 1 teaspoon
- Garam Masala : 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt : 1/4 teaspoon
- Oil : 2 tablespoon
For Curry:-
- Bay Leaves : 2
- Cinnamon : 1 inch
- Black Cardamom : 2
- Green Cardamom : 3
- Gloves : 7
- Cumin Seeds: 1 teaspoon
- Onion : 1 Chopped (Big)
- Tomatoes : 3 finely chopped
- Garlic Paste : 1 teaspoon
- Ginger Paste : 1 teaspoon
- Green Chili : 3 finely chopped
- Turmeric Powder : 1/2 teaspoon
- Red Chili Powder : 1 teaspoon
- Coriander Powder : 1 teaspoon
- Cumin Powder : 1 teaspoon
- Salt : 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam Masala : 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander Leaves : 2 tablespoon (finely chopped)
- Oil : 2 tablespoon
- Water : 1 cup
Preparation Time : 10 minutes
Cooking Time : 30 minutes
Total Time : 40 minutes

How to cook Jackfruit Curry
- First of oil, lubricate palms with oil and peel the jackfruit using knife and cut the jackfruit in pieces around 2-2 inch in length
- Wash the jackfruit using salted water and then dry it after wiping it with dry cloth
- Now take the jackfruit in a big bowl and add ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, curd, fenugreek leaves, garam masala and salt. Mix well and leave it for 20 minutes for marination
- After 20 minutes, put a kadai (cauldron) on a stove and heat it. Put 2 tablespoon oil and heat it well. As the oil gets heated put the marinated jackfruit in it and fry it till it gets a brown color. Once done, take out the fried jackfruits in a plate.
- Now heat the same kadai (cauldron) and put some more oil in it. Once heated, add bay leaves, cinnamon, green and black cardamom, gloves and cumin seeds. Fry it, till it starts emanating aroma of the spices.
- Now put the finely chopped onion in the same kadai (cauldron) and fry it till the onion gets a pink color. Then add ginger garlic paste and fry it for a minute. Then put the stove on low flame and add all the powdered spices (excluding garam masala) including turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, etc and fry it till the spices give pleasant fragrance.
- Then add tomatoes and fry it till the tomatoes become soft, then add the fried jackfruit in it and mix it well. Once done, add 1 cup water and leave it on the stove for 15 minutes
- After 15 minutes, add garam masala and chopped coriander leaves and mix it well. Now our jackfruit curry is ready to be served.
