How to make soya chaap or soya chopsticks
- First of all, take soya beans in a container and wash it properly. After washing soak it in water over night or for at least 8 hours
- When soya beans are soaked for 8 hours, softly crush the beans using both palms, it will lead to removal of seed coats. After all beans are crushed and seed coats are removed, pour water in the container and stir the beans properly using hands or spoons. Stirring will make all the removed seed coats come to the surface of the water, remove them, rinse off the extra water
- Once, the seed coats are removed, pour the soaked soya beans in a mixer jar, grind it into a fine paste, add little water while grinding if needed so
- Now put a container on a stove, add water and heat it. Put the soya chunks into water and boil it till soya chunks are cooked and become soft
- Once done, switch off the stove, let it cool and then squeeze out all the extra water from the soya chunks
- Put these soya chunks in a mixer jar and grind it into a fine paste
- Now take a big bowl and put the soya bean and soya chunk paste into it, add all purpose flour, add salt to taste and then mix it well
- Prepare a soft dough (like dough for chapatis) from the mixture and let it rest for 10 mins
- Using dough roll small sized chapatis, then cut it into stripes using a knife
- Take ice cream sticks and roll the stripes prepared from soya bean and chunk dough around the ice cream stick
- Once all the sticks are rolled, put water to boil in a container and then put all the sticks in boiling water and leave it for 12-15 minutes
- After 12-15 minutes, take out the soya chopsticks from hot water and put them in cold water and let it cool down. Once done, our soya chopsticks are ready to be served
