Soya Milk is an ideal, tasty and healthy supplement of traditional milk. It is prepared from soya beans and is completely vegan. Soya milk also contains nutrients like calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, phosphorous, iron, vitamin B 12 etc. Soya Milk also helps in weight loss as it is a low calorie milk. So, today we will be preparing it at home in quick and easy steps.
Ingredients For Making Soya Milk At Home
- Soya Beans : 1 cup or 125 grams (soaked overnight in water)
- Water : 1 and 1/2 litre (1500 ml)
Preparation Time : 10 minutes
Cooking Time : 15 minutes
Total Time : 25 minutes
Outcome: 1 litre soya milk
How To Make Soya Milk
- First take soya beans in a bowl and wash it properly using water
- Soak these beans overnight or for at least 10 hours
- Once soaked, mash the beans using hands to remove it's seed coats, after mashing pour ample water in the container and stir it using hands, all removed seed coats will come to surface take out the additional water and seed coats will come with it. Repeat this process for at least 2-3 times, so that all seed coats are removed.
- After removing seed coats from beans, put them in a mixture and make a fine paste
- Put the paste in a container and put it on stove.
- Pour 1.5 litre water in the paste and switch on the stove, cook it. Keep stirring.
- Once the milk starts to boil, take out the foam it forms using a spoon
- Once cooked for 10-15 minutes, filter it using a sieve or clean cotton cloth so that the residue is filtered out and we get the soya milk.
